Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications (DEMP) is an attached Department of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

This Directorate was the Publication Division of the Bombay-based Information and Broadcasting Department before to Pakistan’s independence. Its new name, Department of Advertising & Publications, came forth after independence. It was renamed once more as the Department of Advertising, Films & Publications (DFP) in 1947 after adding the film unit. It was headquartered in Karachi. The Press Information Department established the Electronic Media Relation Wing (EMR) in July 2009. After merging, the EMR Wing and DFP became the Directorate of Electronic Media & Publications (DEMP). September 11, 2012

DEMP creates, archives, and distributes current and historic documentaries and publications with rare records on the Pakistan Movement, serving as a reputable source of reference both domestically and internationally. DEMP has also established a cutting-edge news analysis center capable of gathering news from 50 or more TV channels at the same time and analyzing trends to generate information.
